Hello, fellow parents!
We’re so excited to welcome you to Aluna Hub! If you’re reading this, you might be wondering who we are, what we’re all about, and how we can help make your life as a parent just a little bit easier. So, let’s dive right in and tell you everything about our journey, our mission, and how you and your children can get involved!
How It All Started – Our Story
Aluna Hub wasn’t born out of a corporate boardroom or a random business idea—it came from our own experience as parents. We’re a family just like yours, navigating the challenges of raising kids while trying to give them the best possible future. For us, the turning point came when we noticed how few accessible, engaging, and creative activities there were for children in Drogheda. There were limited options, and most of the time, we had to travel outside the town for things that should be available in our own community. We know how that feels, and we knew something needed to change.
That’s when we decided to create Aluna Hub, named after our daughter Luna, who inspired us to dream bigger. “Aluna” also happens to mean “student” in Portuguese, which perfectly fits our vision. For us, Aluna is about more than just activities—it’s about nurturing children’s creativity and talents, offering them a place to grow and express themselves through play, while giving parents peace of mind that their kids are in good hands.

Our Mission – What We Stand For
At Aluna Hub, our mission is simple: To provide a creative, safe, and welcoming space where kids can explore their interests, develop new skills, and most importantly, have fun! We want every child to feel encouraged, empowered, and excited to learn, and every parent to feel like their child is getting a well-rounded experience that goes beyond just “after-school care.”
To make this happen, we’re focusing on three key things:
Safety First: All our activities are delivered by professionals who are Garda-vetted, first-aid trained, insured, and experienced in their fields.
Creative Exploration: From crafting to science experiments, drama to music, we believe that creative play is a powerful way for children to learn and grow.
Community Building: We want Aluna Hub to be more than just a place for kids—it’s a place for families to connect, share experiences, and support each other.
What’s Next – Our Plans for the Future
We’re starting with St. Nicholas G.F.C who has been doing amazing work with the local community and supports us in bring this extra service —but this is just the beginning. Our goal is to expand Aluna Hubs to different areas in Drogheda and beyond, making sure every part of the community has access to fun, creative, and educational activities for kids. We also want to make sure Aluna Hub is accessible to all families, which is why we’re reserving 20% of class slots for low-income families, refugees, and immigrants.
In the future, we envision Aluna Hub as a space where you can drop off your child knowing they’ll be in a safe, nurturing environment, doing activities that inspire their creativity. We want to grow this into a place where kids and families feel like they belong—whether that’s through in-person classes, community events, or even an online community where we can share resources, ideas, and support each other as parents.
Empowering Parents – It’s Not Just About the Kids
At Aluna Hub, we believe that supporting parents is just as important as nurturing children. We know how challenging it can be to juggle everything, which is why we’re working on programs that make life a little easier for parents too. One of our upcoming ideas is the “Drop & Shop” program, where parents who purchase plans with us can access exclusive discounts at local businesses—perfect for running errands or enjoying some time for yourself while the kids are in class.
In the future, we’re also looking to offer workshops and resources around topics like family finances, the use of AI in parenting, and parental control savviness—all designed to help parents feel empowered, informed, and supported. These are still ideas in the making, but we’re excited to bring them to life and help parents thrive, just like we want the children to!
Why We’re Doing This – A Personal Note
If there’s one thing we’ve learned from being parents, it’s that raising children is the most rewarding, yet challenging, job in the world. We’ve had our ups and downs, including personal losses that have shaped who we are today. Creating Aluna Hub is our way of giving back to the community and creating something meaningful that reflects our passion for helping children grow.
Whether we can have more children ourselves or not, we want to contribute to raising the next generation, not just for our own child but for all children. We believe that every child deserves a place where they can thrive, and every parent deserves to feel supported.
Let’s Build Something Together
We’re so excited to have you on this journey with us. Aluna Hub is still in its early stages, but we can’t wait to grow and evolve alongside the families in Drogheda and beyond. We’re committed to making this a community-driven effort, and we’d love for you to be part of that.
So, from one parent to another: thank you for being here, thank you for believing in us, and thank you for helping us build a brighter future for our children.
That’s it for now, but we’ll be keeping you updated with our progress. In the meantime, feel free to reach out, leave a comment, or stop by one of our focus groups to say hello. We’d love to hear from you!
Warm regards,
Felipe, Carla, Luna & The Aluna Hub Team
